This website was created through the collaboration of four students in “Society, Culture, and the Individual”, taught by Professor Amanda Cox at Bryn Mawr College.
We selected the topic of Community based on Bryn Mawr’s unique reputation for having a very tight-knit campus, as well as our own various community experiences throughout our lives.
Our Team
Amadea is a Junior at Bryn Mawr college and a Biology Premed Major and Africana Studies Minor. She focused on how deviance, inclusion, and exclusion shapes and impacts a community. She hopes to go to medical school and become a doctor to improve healthcare for African Americans. Although stressful, she is proud to be a science major.
Fern is a sophomore at Bryn Mawr college and a Sociology major. They are very interested in further researching the sociology of community and intends to pursue a career in social work. They are very proud to be part of the Sociology Community
Grace is a junior at Bryn Mawr college and a Sociology major and an Education minor. Here, she focused on what community is through different sociological lenses. She believes community is very important and is proud to be a part of different communities here on campus.
Natalie is a freshman at Bryn Mawr College and is still unsure about her future educational path. Because she plays on the BMC Lacrosse team and is a member of BMC Mock Trial, researching communities was an interesting and applicable topic for her. She is proud to be a part of the Bryn Mawr community.
